About Gary Speed
Gary Speed’s amazing record of achievement and outstanding career make him ideal for

Gary was the first footballer ever to reach 500 Premiership appearances, holding the
record for the most appearances in the toughest football league in the world – scoring
in every season of top flight football he played.
Made captain of his national team, he represented his country 85 times – more times
than any other outfield player.
Gary enjoyed the glory days of four clubs; Leeds United, Everton, Newcastle, and Bolton Wanderers.
He is currently a key member of high flying Sheffield United.
Gary has excelled at the highest level in his field over a consistent period of time, and
has gained extensive experience of what it takes to be successful. Famed for his discipline, work
ethic and profressionalism, Gary has played with and against all of the best footballers in the
world over the last fifteen years.
He is a regular studio presenter and commentator on Sky Sports and makes numerous other television
and radio appearances on such programmes as ‘Question of Sport’ and ‘They Think it’s All Over’.
Gary is in the process of writing two books. Firstly, his autobiography, and second a collaboration
with his business partner, Jamil Qureshi on the psychology of achievement in football.
